Iran has opened the Strait of Hormuz: oil prices have fallen

Iran has announced the temporary reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping following a ceasefire in Lebanon. The decision comes with strict conditions, including the exclusion of military vessels and requirements for ships to avoid ties with "enemy states" and coordinate their routes with Iranian authorities. Following this announcement, global oil prices experienced a sharp decline. U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly welcomed the move and expressed his gratitude to Iran.
The Iranian government issued a statement regarding the resumption of movement through the Strait of Hormuz. According to the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this vital maritime corridor has been declared temporarily fully open to commercial vessels due to the armistice declared in Lebanon.
According to the official statement, only commercial vessels are permitted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, while military vessels are not permitted. Furthermore, ships and their cargo must not be associated with "enemy states."
According to another requirement, all vessels must travel along the route determined by Iran, and the passage process must be coordinated in advance with the responsible Iranian services.
Following the opening of the strait, a sharp decline in oil prices was observed on the global market. According to some sources, US President Donald Trump also positively assessed this decision and thanked Iran.
