Permission to participate in negotiations with the USA was granted by the supreme leader of Iran

Iran's Supreme Leader has reportedly granted approval for the nation to engage in talks with the United States. This decision, conveyed on the evening of April 20, signals Tehran's official readiness for negotiations after a prolonged wait, with Washington also having anticipated a clear response. While mediating countries like Pakistan urged Iran to participate, some internal factions, including the IRGC, advocated for a more cautious stance, linking talks to the lifting of a naval blockade. The next round of discussions may occur in Islamabad, Pakistan, potentially led by US Vice President JD Vance, though Iranian officials have not yet issued public comments.

According to Axios, Iran's Supreme Leader has given permission to participate in talks with the US.
According to sources, the Iranian delegation has been waiting for a "green light" to participate in the talks for a long time, and this signal was given on the evening of April 20.
With this decision, Tehran officially announced its readiness for the negotiation process.
According to the information, Washington has also been waiting for a clear response signal from Iran. At the same time, intermediary countries such as Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey have also encouraged Tehran to negotiate.
However, some forces within Iran, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, have been in favor of not rushing into negotiations and maintaining a firm position. They have stated that negotiations should not be entered into until the naval blockade is lifted.
According to Axios, the next round of talks could be held in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, with Vice President JD Vance expected to lead the US delegation.
Iranian officials have not yet commented publicly on the reports.
