Attacks on vessels near the Strait of Hormuz are escalating tensions

Tensions are escalating near the Strait of Hormuz following two attacks on commercial vessels. The UK's Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that the first incident involved an unknown projectile striking a tanker about 78 nautical miles north of the UAE, while the second involved several small boats attacking a cargo ship near Iran's Sirik city, approximately 11 nautical miles from the first site. Fortunately, no crew members were harmed in either incident. Previously, Donald Trump announced operations to remove commercial vessels from the strait, which Iran has condemned as contrary to peace efforts.
