Kyrgyz Prime Minister orders civil servants to stop wearing suits to save energy

Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev has ordered civil servants to come to work without suits, following Japan's example, to reduce air conditioning usage and energy consumption.

According to RIA Novosti, the relevant order regarding the new dress code for civil servants has already been signed.

Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev instructed his subordinates to start following the updated dress code starting tomorrow.

"Today we all work in suits. If we just wear shirts, we can use air conditioners less. This will help save energy," the Prime Minister said at a meeting.

The politician added that a similar practice has been successfully implemented in Japan. According to him, by removing formal work attire, the Asian country managed to save billions of yen.

The VZGLYAD newspaper reported that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a reduction in the size of his motorcade to save fuel. Thai Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul called on citizens to work remotely to prevent an energy crisis.
