Mercedes-Benz has introduced the Vision V, a luxury electric minivan concept that serves as a precursor to the next-generation Vito and V-Class models. The new lineup will include both family minivans and VIP shuttles with electric powertrains. The concept will be officially unveiled in April, while the first production electric vehicle is set to launch next year.
The Vision V stands out with its modern design and cutting-edge technology. The initial teaser image showcases the Vision V logo on the rear of the vehicle, illuminated by numerous three-pointed Mercedes-Benz stars. It remains unclear whether this feature will make it to the production model, but Mercedes-Benz has promised to introduce ultra-modern and unexpected design elements.
The new Vito and V-Class models will be built on the Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA) platform, which is highly flexible and capable of supporting both entry-level vans and premium shuttles. The lineup will feature an 800-volt system and offer both single-motor and dual-motor powertrain options.
The top-tier models will boast a driving range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge and will initially come with Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities. As technology advances, future versions are expected to incorporate Level 3 and Level 4 self-driving systems.
Additionally, Mercedes-Benz is working on a successor to the EQC crossover, which did not meet the company's expectations. The new prototype, named GLC with EQ Technology, is currently undergoing testing. It will be equipped with an 800-volt system, advanced battery technology, and a new braking system.
