China to begin mass production of flying cars
Chinese automaker XPeng plans to become the first company in the world to launch mass production of flying cars by 2026, reported Xinhua.

According to CEO He Xiaopeng, the company is moving forward with these plans as China continues to develop its low-altitude flight economy with strong government support. If everything proceeds as scheduled, XPeng will be the first to achieve large-scale production of flying cars.

China’s 2025 economic and social development plan includes expanding the use of low-altitude flying vehicles while strengthening safety measures and risk management.

XPeng has also announced that it will start pre-sales of the XPeng Aeroht model in late 2024. This modular car features a flying device stored in its trunk, capable of carrying two passengers. The vehicle is expected to be priced between 1 and 2 million yuan ($138,000–$276,000), with deliveries starting in Q4 2025.
