Ford recalls half a million vehicles over brake system defect

Ford has announced the recall of nearly 500,000 vehicles in the United States. The reason is a defect in the braking system.

According to experts, the brake hose may rupture, causing fluid to leak. This can extend the stopping distance of the vehicle and increase the risk of an accident.

The defect has mainly been found in Ford Edge models from 2015–2018 and Lincoln MKX models from 2016–2018.

Ford stated that so far no accidents or injuries have been reported due to this issue. Nevertheless, the vehicles will be inspected and repaired.

In addition, Ford is recalling more than 200,000 vehicles over problems with tail lights and airbags.
