BMW Group produces its two-millionth electric vehicle

BMW Group has announced the production of its two-millionth fully electric vehicle (BEV) as part of its global electrification program. This historic milestone was marked by a BMW i5 M60 xDrive in Tanzanite Blue. This result confirms the company's position as a leader among traditional automakers in the transition to electric vehicles, reports Ixbt.com. reports .
At the heart of this success is the Dingolfing plant in Bavaria. Since series production began with the BMW iX in 2021, more than 320,000 electric vehicles have been assembled at this facility. Today, the plant produces the widest range of electric models in the BMW portfolio, including the i5 sedan and Touring, as well as the luxury i7 flagship.
The BMW iFACTORY concept serves as a key factor in BMW's success. Unlike competitors, instead of building separate plants for electric vehicles, BMW has implemented flexible assembly lines. As a result, electric, hybrid, and traditional gasoline models are assembled on the same conveyor, allowing production volumes to be adjusted rapidly according to market demand.
Thanks to this approach, every BMW plant in Germany produces at least one fully electric model. This has made electrification an integral part of the daily production process. This achievement by BMW has further strengthened Germany's position as the world's second-largest producer of electric vehicles.
