BMW to unveil i3 sedan with 1,000 km range in Beijing

BMW is set to debut an updated i3 electric sedan at the Beijing Auto Show, featuring a wheelbase extended to three meters specifically for the Chinese market. The new model incorporates design adjustments such as traditional door handles to meet local safety standards, alongside enhanced interior decorative elements. Most notably, the sedan boasts a high-capacity battery providing a range of over 1,000 km under the CLTC cycle. It also supports 400 kW fast charging, which allows the vehicle to gain 400 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.
The German BMW Group is preparing to unveil an updated version of the i3 electric sedan at the Beijing Auto Show. This model has been specifically developed for the Chinese market, with its primary distinguishing feature being a wheelbase extended to 3 meters. This figure is 100 millimeters longer than the previous model, even exceeding the dimensions of the 5-series sedans.
The new electric vehicle also features several changes in its exterior design. Notably, in accordance with new safety standards in China, the car is equipped with traditional door handles instead of flush-mounted ones. Additionally, special decorative elements that light up when the vehicle is started and new interior finishes have been added.
According to technical specifications, the sedan is equipped with a high-capacity battery capable of covering a distance of over 1,000 kilometers based on the CLTC cycle. The vehicle supports a fast-charging system of up to 400 kW. The manufacturer claims that a mere 10-minute charge provides enough energy to travel 400 kilometers.
