New China-made Volvo XC70 crossover unveiled in Russia

The new generation Volvo XC70 crossover, produced in China, has been unveiled for the Russian market. Unlike its predecessor, this model has transitioned from an all-terrain wagon to a family crossover in the D-class segment. Built on the SMA platform, it features three electric motors and a 1.5-liter Geely turbo engine, delivering a total power output of 462 horsepower and achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 39.6 kWh battery, allowing for a 212 km range on electric power alone, while the total range with a full tank is approximately 1200 km.
The new generation "Volvo XC70" crossover has been presented on the Russian market. Unlike the previous generation, the model is now no longer an off-road station wagon, but has become a D-class family crossover. This was reported by Ixbt.com.
In terms of dimensions, it is positioned between the "XC60" and "XC90" models.

The vehicle is built on the SMA platform, and its powertrain consists of three electric motors and a 1.5-liter "Geely" turbo engine. The total system output is 462 horsepower.
The crossover reaches 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.

The all-wheel-drive vehicle is equipped with a 39.6 kWh battery. This allows for a range of 212 km on electric power alone.
With a fuel tank and a full charge, the crossover can travel a total of 1,200 km.
The world premiere of the new "Volvo XC70" model took place in the summer of 2025. Currently, this vehicle is being manufactured at a plant in Taizhou, China.
