Katrina Kaif (born Katrina Turquotte, July 16, 1983) is a British actress and model who rose to international fame through her roles in Hindi films. She is today recognized as one of the highest-paid actresses in India.
Kaif has achieved numerous accolades, including four Filmfare Award nominations. Born in Hong Kong, she lived in several countries before moving to London. She began her modeling career as a teenager and quickly found success in the fashion industry.
Her film debut came in 2003 with “Boom.” Although the movie was a commercial failure, it opened the door for her career. After starring in the Telugu film “Malliswari” (2004), Kaif gained major recognition in Bollywood with the romantic comedy “Meyn Pyaar Kyun Kiya.”
Over the years, she has appeared in several box-office hits, though critics have sometimes noted repetitive roles and a tendency toward male-dominated films. Nevertheless, Katrina Kaif remains one of Bollywood’s brightest and most admired stars.
