Alia Bhatt was born on March 15, 1993. She is a British actress of Indian descent, primarily working in Hindi films. Known for portraying women in difficult circumstances, she has won a National Film Award and six Filmfare Awards, becoming one of India’s highest-paid actresses.
In 2022, she received the Time100 Impact Award, and in 2024, Time named her among the 100 most influential people in the world. Born into the Bhatt family, she is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan.
She made her debut in the 1999 thriller “Sangharsh” as a child artist. In 2012, she starred in Karan Johar’s “Student of the Year,” followed by her critically acclaimed performance in “Highway” (2014), which earned her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.
Despite her success, Bhatt often faces criticism for nepotism, with accusations that Johar favors her in casting. Johar defended himself by saying he feels “parental affection” towards her.
