Russian artist Erik Bulatov has died

Famous Soviet and Russian artist Erik Bulatov died at the age of 92. This was reported by The Art Newspaper Russia.

Erik Bulatov was born in Sverdlovsk, but grew up in Moscow. It is known that he lived in New York for several years, and from the 1990s he lived between Paris and Moscow.

A turning point in the artist's career was his personal exhibitions held in the 1980s at the Zurich Kunsthall and the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris - it was these exhibitions that brought him international fame.

Among the artist's famous works are "Entrance - No Entrance," "Freedom," "I Live - I See," "Glory of the USSR," "Welcome," "Louvre. "In Jokond," "The Clouds Are Growing."

In 2008, his 1975 work "Glory of the USSR" was sold at a London auction for more than two million dollars.

It was also reported that in the summer of this year, Erik Bulatov took first place in the ranking of Russia's most successful contemporary artists.
