The South Korean Court of Appeal fully acquitted the case of sexual assault against 81-year-old actor O Yen Su, known for his role in the series "Squid Game." This was reported by Peopletalk.
Although there are indeed grounds to suspect the actor of indecent behavior, the appellate court noted that the victim's memories may have been distorted over the years when issuing an acquittal, and all suspicions should be interpreted in favor of the accused.
As a reminder, according to the prosecution's version, the actor embraced and kissed the woman's face in 2017 without her consent. However, the story unfolded only in 2021, after O Yen Su became world-famous thanks to the success of the series "Squid Game."
The court of first instance found the actor guilty and sentenced him to eight months of probation with a two-year probationary period. At the same time, the prosecutor's office was dissatisfied with the court's decision and demanded a sentence of up to one year in prison.
