Uzbekistan’s People’s Artist Gavhar Zokirova addressed parents, warning them about the consequences of sending children to Russian schools. In an interview, she said: “Many send their children to Russian schools and feel happy about it, but you forget one thing — the child will start thinking in Russian.”
Zokirova shared her personal experience: “I have been through this myself; the process was difficult, and later the child returns to their own state. They do not learn our Uzbek literature, but Russian and world literature.”
The actress also emphasized the importance of high-quality Uzbek literature and reminded parents: “Our literature is as rich as Western literature. If a child does not know it, it is a huge loss.”
