US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social network that Attorney General Pam Bondi will be leaving the post. According to him, Bondi will resign and begin a new and very important role in the private sector. It is not yet known when this will happen and what exactly it will be.

Currently, the position of attorney general is planned to be held by his deputy Todd Blanch. Trump did not elaborate on the reasons for Bondi's resignation, but according to Reuters, Trump is not satisfied with her work. Some analysts believe that this may be due to criticism over the publication of materials in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
The Justice Department previously released new documents in the Epstein case, which also included a woman's accusations against Trump. The White House called these claims unfounded, and the Justice Department warned that the information may contain incorrect or incomplete facts. The publication of the documents is due to pressure from Congress, and Pam Bondi was expected to be questioned in the House of Representatives on April 14.
Bondi took office as US Attorney General in February 2025. Before this position, she served as Florida's attorney general, and then as attorney general, and is the first woman to hold this position.
