Is the attack on Trump linked to Iran?

Donald Trump has dismissed suggestions of a link between Iran and a recent shooting incident, stating he believes the perpetrator likely acted alone. During a briefing, Trump emphasized that the attack would not deter his political agenda or his resolve regarding Iran. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old California resident Cole Thomas Allen, is currently in custody following the incident which left a Secret Service agent injured but protected by a bulletproof vest.
Donald Trump cast doubt on speculation that the shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner could be linked to Iran. Trump said this during a briefing at the White House after the incident in Washington.
He said at the news conference that “I believe there is no connection between this incident and the situation surrounding Iran.” At the same time, the president said the incident would not affect his political views, adding, “This will not stop me and will not stand in the way of my path to victory over Iran.”
In Trump’s assessment, the person who carried out the attack most likely acted alone.
