A single error: A living person turned "dead" for 9 days

In Kazakhstan's Kostanay region, a man named Vladimir Shremf was mistakenly registered as deceased due to a technical error in the system, causing him significant difficulties for nine days. This issue arose during the processing of documents related to his mother's death, where incorrect information entered by a medical worker led to Shremf being classified as "deceased." As a result, he faced numerous challenges, including being unable to work, losing his driver's license, and having his bank accounts frozen. After nine days, the error was corrected, and he was officially re-registered as "alive," prompting him to consider legal action for the material and moral damages he suffered.

An unexpected and unusual incident occurred in the Qostanay region of Kazakhstan. A citizen named Vladimir Shremf was officially registered as a deceased person for a period of time due to a technical error in the system. This situation caused him serious difficulties.
According to "31.kz," the incident arose during the process of filing documents related to the death of Shremf's mother. As a result of incorrect data entered by a medical worker, the man's personal information was recorded in the system as "deceased."
Consequently, for several days, he became a person who did not exist in official documents. This had a drastic impact on his daily life. He was unable to get a job, his driver's license was revoked, and he was deprived of the opportunity to drive a car.
Additionally, it became impossible to carry out financial transactions as his bank accounts were blocked. When applying to government agencies, a unique personal identification number was required everywhere, but the system showed him as a "non-existent person."
“I couldn't resolve anything. I had to prove I was alive everywhere,” he said, explaining the situation.
After 9 days, the error was corrected, and Vladimir Shremf was officially re-registered as "alive." Thus, his legal status was restored.
He now plans to file a lawsuit for the material and moral damages caused by this error.
Representatives of the medical institution commented on the situation, stating that measures were taken to rectify the error as soon as it was identified. It was also noted that the responsible employee has been held for disciplinary liability.
