
Today, April 30, the Uzbekistan-China Economic Forum was held in Urumqi.
Its opening was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and delegations led by Ma Xingzhui, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
The heads of the delegations made speeches at the forum.

It was noted that in recent years, relations between countries have been increasingly strengthened and are becoming a new model of good relations and friendship, and in this regard, close, sincere and fraternal relations between the Heads of State are of particular importance.
In turn, it was noted that such events will help deepen trade, economic and investment ties and open up new areas of cooperation.
Today, joint projects with Chinese partners in the fields of energy, chemistry, mechanical engineering, textiles, construction materials, household appliances, and agricultural products are being effectively implemented.
In recent years, the volume of direct investments attracted to Uzbekistan from China has increased fivefold, and the number of joint ventures has increased threefold.

Within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, the construction of the “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan” railway, which is of strategic importance for the countries of the region, has been launched.
As a result of the launch of this project, Uzbekistan will be formed as a major logistics hub between the East and the West.
In his speech, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan noted that the delegation of our country, which included more than 250 major entrepreneurs, as well as heads and representatives of Andijan, Tashkent, Fergana, Syrdarya, and Surkhandarya regions, had visited Urumqi, and drew the attention of the participants to the results of large-scale reforms being implemented in our country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to improve the investment climate and create favorable conditions for entrepreneurs.

As noted, the gross domestic product has doubled in the past period, exceeding $100 billion for the first time. In the next five years, it is planned to increase this figure to $160 billion.
In recent years, our country has absorbed more than $70 billion in foreign investment. More than $14 billion in funds from international financial institutions have been attracted to social and infrastructure sectors.
In the next 5 years, it is planned to increase the share of "green" energy sources in energy by 50%.
Uzbekistan is a country with a large base of mineral resources and important metals.
Our country produces 25 million tons of high-quality fruits and vegetables per year. Fruits, vegetables and food products worth $2.5 billion are exported annually.
It was reported that our country has a preferential trade system with many countries in the world.
Within the framework of the Uzbekistan-China Economic Forum, the heads and representatives of the business circles of the two countries also held negotiations in the “B2B” format.
Within the framework of the visit to China, bilateral meetings were held with the heads of a number of large companies, such as China General Nuclear Power, Sichuan Jiuzhou Investment Holding Group, Xinjiang Lihua Group, China Chamber of Textile Import and Export, Shanghai Oriental Credits Industrial Development Co., Ltd, Longze Investment Group Co., Ltd, Watchman Group PTE. Ltd, Beijing University of Technology, the Chamber of Electrical Engineering Commerce, and the China Leather Association, and issues of further expanding trade and economic cooperation were discussed.
