
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation today, May 3. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The telephone conversation discussed urgent issues of further development and strengthening of comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries.
The results of the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian President to Uzbekistan in May last year were reviewed.
It was emphasized that it is important to maintain the pace of mutual trade turnover, accelerate cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy, and adopt coordinated measures aimed at continuing active dialogue at the regional and business levels.
In this regard, the effective results of the business events held within the framework of the fifth international industrial exhibition "Innoprom. Central Asia" in Tashkent were highly appreciated.
It was noted with satisfaction that humanitarian cooperation is expanding, primarily in the fields of culture, art, science and education, sports and tourism. The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia also exchanged views on issues on the international agenda and discussed plans for future meetings.
