In recent years, Uzbekistan has actively participated in regional and international economic integration processes, taking another step forward with its policy of openness and commitment to reforms. At the latest meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part as the head of an EAEU observer state and made important statements in the interests of the country.
The round table included not only leaders of EAEU member states, but also leaders of other countries as observers and guests. This meeting defined new prospects for multifaceted cooperation, industrial partnership, and the implementation of mutually beneficial projects. It was once again emphasized that broad and deep cooperation with EAEU countries has become a priority direction in Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.
In the president’s speech, special attention was paid to the participation of EAEU country delegations in the "Innoprom. Central Asia" international exhibition and the fourth Tashkent Investment Forum, held in our country in 2025. These events resulted in practical agreements and the identification of new areas for cooperation.
Thanks to this cooperation, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with EAEU countries grew by 80 percent last year, reaching $18 billion. This figure is not only a statistic, but also an example of development based on clear prospects and joint plans.
At a recent joint Working Group meeting, concrete measures were developed to remove technical barriers, deepen industrial cooperation, and support business initiatives. To increase efficiency, a new three-year Plan covering more than 40 activities has been launched.
Projects in which Uzbekistan is actively involved — the “Eurasian Agroexpress”, e-commerce development, digitalization of freight transport, and the climate agenda — are becoming important not only regionally, but also globally. In April, an agreement was also signed to join the creation of the Eurasian Development Bank, opening up new financial opportunities for our country.
In his speech, the president emphasized the importance of developing trade relations and creating favorable conditions in the free economic zone. Uzbekistan has been diligently fulfilling all agreements and put forward several proposals to simplify trade operations and bring standards closer together.
In the near future, the main elements of cooperation will be the introduction of digital technologies in trade, electronic labeling, the creation of next-generation logistics platforms, and the development of artificial intelligence capabilities.
In addition, the country has expressed its readiness to join the “Labor Without Borders” platform and proposed specific measures to harmonize labor market standards and coordinate professional qualifications.
Supporting small and medium-sized businesses, industrial cooperation, technology transfer, and the adoption of agro-cooperation programs in agriculture — all this is intended to further strengthen Uzbekistan’s position in the international economic arena in the coming years.
Another important aspect of EAEU cooperation is the implementation of modern technologies among agricultural producers and the effective organization of “green” corridors.
In conclusion, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that Uzbekistan’s participation in multifaceted cooperation with the EAEU not only serves economic growth and stability, but also forms a solid foundation for taking our countries to a new level and strengthening their positions in regional and global markets.
