Japanese firm Metaplanet (TYO:3350) has purchased an additional 103 Bitcoin, Investing.com reported. The acquisition cost 1.736 billion yen ($11.8 million) at an average price of around 16.86 million yen per Bitcoin.
This brings Metaplanet’s total holdings to 18,991 BTC. The cumulative amount spent on Bitcoin has now reached 285.83 billion yen.
The company has been actively accumulating Bitcoin since December 2024, when it launched its Bitcoin Treasury Operations division. Metaplanet measures the effectiveness of its acquisition strategy using a unique metric called “BTC Yield.”
