Russia increased gas supplies to Central Asia by 15%

Russia increased gas supplies to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan by 15% in 2025 compared to the previous year, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller announced at the international gas forum in St. Petersburg.

According to him, the pace of economic growth in Central Asia is accelerating and may reach 60% in the next 5-6 years.

This, naturally, will lead to an increase in energy consumption, especially gas.

Miller emphasized that the "Power of Siberia-2" gas pipeline plays a key role in meeting these needs.

He assessed the project as "a new stage and a new impetus in gas supply to the region."

It was noted that the pipeline will be important not only for Central Asia but also for the countries of the Global South.

Currently, Gazprom is working on expanding gas infrastructure in the region and long-term supply contracts.

This trend can serve to further enhance the strategic importance of Central Asia.
