In Tashkent, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vahabov met with a delegation led by Arian Azimi, Deputy Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI). During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to expand trade and economic cooperation, strengthen ties between private sectors, and promote mutual investments.
Several practical initiatives were proposed during the discussions. In particular, the sides agreed to hold quarterly B2B meetings in Tashkent, Kabul, Termez, and Balkh to establish consistent business communication. They also reached an agreement to open an ACCI representative office in Tashkent and simplify business visa procedures for Afghan entrepreneurs.
The meeting also addressed the need to accelerate cargo transportation through the Termez port, streamline customs procedures, and organize annual joint trade exhibitions in Kabul and Tashkent (or in Mazar-i-Sharif and Termez).
Both sides emphasized that implementing these initiatives will help increase bilateral trade volumes, launch new investment projects, and further strengthen cooperation between the private sectors of the two nations.
At the end of the meeting, Davron Vahabov highlighted that the visit of the Afghan delegation marked an important step toward opening a new chapter in the trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
Experts note that this dialogue is expected to deepen strategic partnership and open new opportunities for the economies of both countries, as well as for the broader region.
