
According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the country’s gold and foreign currency reserves exceeded $59 billion for the first time in history, reaching a record figure. This was stated in the regulator's report.
This figure increased by more than $4 billion in just one month. If in October of the current year reserves amounted to $54.9 billion, now this amount has reached $59.3 billion.
The country's financial stability is mainly based on gold reserves. Although the physical volume of precious metals in reserves remains at 11.9 million troy ounces, the total value has reached $47.8 billion due to the rise in gold prices on the world market.
Currency reserves consist of highly liquid assets and foreign currency and amount to $9.8 billion.
