8 foods that cause sleepiness and fatigue

Usually we think that food gives a person strength and energy. However, there are foods that, on the contrary, can weaken the body and cause sleepiness and fatigue for a long time. Below we consider several products that may reduce the body’s energy.
Oatmeal
Porridge made from oatmeal, known as one of the healthiest breakfasts, may sometimes cause a feeling of fatigue. This is because it contains tryptophan, a substance that supports healthy sleep. Oatmeal eaten in the morning may cause sleepiness by lunchtime.
Banana
This fruit is rich in potassium and helps produce melatonin in the body. Gamma-aminobutyric acid contained in bananas calms the nervous system. Therefore, if a banana is eaten in the first half of the day, sleepiness and relaxation may increase in the evening.
Black plum
Black plum is a source of vitamin B6. This vitamin enhances melatonin biosynthesis, which may cause sleepiness.
Kiwi
Kiwi contains vitamin C and carotenoids that calm the body. Especially eating kiwi after dinner may improve sleep quality.
Fatty fish
Fatty seafood such as salmon, mussels and tuna are rich in vitamin D and omega-3 acids. They participate in regulating serotonin production. It is also noted that red caviar may cause sleepiness.
Almond
Magnesium contained in this nut may calm the body and cause sleep. However, because almonds are fatty products, consuming them in excessive amounts is not recommended.
Sugary foods
Sweets, rice, pasta and bread products not only contribute to weight gain but also lead to rapid energy consumption. Such foods sharply increase blood sugar levels and then, due to changes in insulin levels, may increase sleepiness and fatigue.
