The liver is one of the most vital organs in the human body. Maintaining its health and protecting it depends greatly on proper nutrition. Some foods help regenerate liver cells, while others can cause serious damage.
Foods considered “beneficial” for the liver include: vegetables and fruits rich in antioxidants and nutrients (especially citrus fruits and berries), fish, lean meats, dairy products, legumes, nuts, vegetable soups, tomato juice, olive oil, herbs, garlic, and green tea.
However, there are also “harmful” foods that pose a risk to liver health. These include fatty and high-calorie meat products, heavily fried and doughy foods, fast food, full-fat milk, cream, fatty cottage cheese, radishes, white cabbage, chocolate, ice cream, sour fruits, pastries, carbonated drinks, coffee, and strong black tea.

Additionally, the eating schedule is very important for liver health. As this organ works continuously, it prefers frequent, small meals. Long periods of fasting or overeating can disrupt its function.
