Modern life has digitized all spheres - work, studies, and even leisure are carried out through electronic devices. Therefore, the human body is increasingly exposed to the influence of computers and smartphones. Headache is one of the most common symptoms among them, affecting almost half of the world's population - 48.9 percent. Headaches have more than 150 types, which are divided into primary and secondary categories.
After the pandemic, work at home increased, screen time increased, and cases of so-called "cybersickness" increased as a result of daily electronic activities. This is a primary headache caused by vestibular eye dysfunction, i.e., a disruption of coordination between the inner ear and the eyes. This cybernetic disease is more common in people who have long-term interaction with computers, phones, tablets, or virtual devices.
The symptoms of cyberdisease are mainly divided into three groups: nausea, eye problems, and general weakness. In fact, this condition, like seasickness, occurs when sensory organs in the organism provide conflicting information. For example, your body "knows" that you're standing still, but your eyes can confuse the brain by seeing rapidly changing virtual movements on the screen. Therefore, patients often experience nausea, sweating, dizziness, vision problems, and severe headaches.
At the same time, there are a number of additional signs indicating excessive time spent in front of the computer and the need to see a doctor:
1.Excessive eye strain
Cybersecurity increases eye strain, and exposure to blue light exacerbates headaches. Those who previously had mild headaches will notice that this burden has intensified. The main measure is limiting screen time, giving eyes rest every 10-15 minutes, and performing special exercises.
2.View in duplicate (watch dubbing)
People who spend a long time at a computer often experience double vision. This sign must be taken seriously - a doctor's examination is mandatory. Moisturizing eye drops, a cold compress, and blue light-blocking glasses can alleviate the condition.
3.Pulse rate
According to research, cybernetic disease affects heart rate, changes vascular tone, and affects the body's reaction time. When brain circulation changes, the use of gadgets intensifies this acceleration.
4. Dizziness and nausea
Disruption of vestibular balance leads to dizziness and vertigo. If short breaks don't help, a specialist examination is necessary to identify problems with the inner ear and eyes. In some cases, therapy with specific medications is required.
5.Melatonin deficiency
The hormone melatonin, which regulates human sleep, decreases under the influence of light. The blue light emitted by smartphones and virtual displays keeps the body "awake." This makes it difficult to fall asleep and increases chronic fatigue. When light decreases, melatonin begins to be recycled and sleep becomes easier.
