On March 27, a young man died while cleaning a gasoline tank in Khorezm’s Shavat district, Nova24.uz reported.
The incident occurred at one of the gas stations. A station worker asked his acquaintance to clean the inside of a 10-ton tank, promising payment afterward. The man came along with his son, born in 2004.
During the cleaning, the 19-year-old descended into the tank and lost consciousness due to gasoline vapor poisoning. His father, seeing this, tried to help by climbing down, but he also began to lose consciousness.
The man's brother arrived in time to pull him out by his clothes. Unfortunately, the young man remained inside and died.
It was reported that the man and his son had cleaned tanks at the station four times before and were paid 100,000–150,000 UZS each time.
