President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the regional social services center "World of Opportunities" in the city of Andijan.
Based on our country's Constitution and the social protection strategy, the scale of respecting individuals has expanded, and services in this field are becoming more accessible to those in need.
As a continuation of this work, on February 27 of this year, the President signed a resolution “On additional measures to further improve the system of providing social services and assistance to children with disabilities.”
Within the framework of this resolution, for the first time in Andijan, the regional social services center “World of Opportunities” began operation.
The institution, located on nearly 5 hectares of land, includes administrative offices, a hall for community activists, buildings for inclusive education and vocational training, a children’s playground, a sports complex, and a swimming pool.
Here, children with disabilities and individuals needing care are provided with social services on a visiting basis. In particular, social and medical rehabilitation, vocational guidance, foreign language teaching, and additional education services for children from low-income families are being provided.
More than 60 employees work at the center. The identification and referral of people in need of social protection are handled by “Inson” centers.
The President got acquainted with the country’s first early intervention service established here. This department specializes in caring for children from infancy to age three. Until now, children of this age were only under parental care.
Specialized kindergartens accepted them only after the age of three. Now, if a disability risk is detected during pregnancy, mothers will receive services in this facility.
This will help strengthen their attention to their children. Psychological consultations will also be provided for them.
The President also reviewed the conditions in the building designated for additional education. There, children with disabilities have opportunities to study, do after-school learning, and access the internet.
Moreover, children from families listed in the poverty registry can also come and learn English, Russian, Korean, and other languages.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of this year, nearly 10,000 children from low-income families in the Andijan region have been placed in kindergartens, about 29,000 have received medical assistance, and 20,000 have been covered with social services.
This helps them “stand on their feet” and find employment.
A day-care service is also provided in the center. Here, people with disabilities engage in physical and cognitive activities.
As social workers care for them, their family members can be free to go to work.
Citizens receiving care in this department expressed their gratitude to the Head of State, saying that such attention brought them back to life.
— Behind this attention is your health, the worries and concerns of your loved ones. I’m happy to see your hope for life and optimism.
We will continue to expand such care. All we ask of you is patience, faith, and effort, — said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The social service center also includes a sports complex. It has a physical therapy room and swimming pool designed for children with disabilities.
Notably, the training equipment was brought from the USA and other foreign countries and is tailored for adaptive sports. The swimming pool also offers comfort adapted to the age of the children.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of rehabilitating children with disabilities and engaging older individuals in suitable professions and activities. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
