On April 23, Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the activities of the modern gastronomic tourism street established on O'zbekiston ovozi street in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city. This project is one of the important initiatives aimed at developing domestic tourism and expanding the range of services in the country.
This facility was implemented based on the decision of the head of state adopted on April 30, 2022, and was launched in September 2025. The project was developed by Russian architectural bureaus "City Makers" and "Lyudi Arxitekts".

The street is 2.1 kilometers long, and all modern amenities have been created here for residents and tourists. Specifically, wide pedestrian and bicycle paths, recreation areas, selfie zones, outdoor sports grounds, and eco-toilets have been built. Additionally, eco-playgrounds and rope parks for children, as well as family recreation areas, are in operation.
As the President walked along the street, he became acquainted with the renovated houses, landscaped areas, and created conveniences. He communicated with the citizens living here and listened to their opinions and suggestions.

The total cost of the project is 40 billion soums. Currently, 165 trade and service facilities are operating on the street. 89 business entities have switched to continuous, i.e., 24/7 operation. Most importantly, the creation of 2,221 new jobs is of great economic importance.
It is reported that in 2025, a total of 26 streets in the capital were switched to a round-the-clock operating format. 540 billion soums were spent on this direction, and 1,103 new facilities were established. Also, 315 entrepreneurs switched to a permanent work mode, and the operations of 26 foreign brands were launched.

These efforts are yielding results. Currently, the number of daily visitors to these streets ranges from 80,000 to 200,000, and the employment of 6,000 residents is ensured.
This year, it is planned to build 18 new tourism streets, launch 500 new facilities, and create about 7,000 new jobs.

The head of state gave specific instructions to officials to further increase the number of gastronomic tourism streets, fully utilize existing potential, improve service quality, and accelerate the implementation of new investment projects.
Such initiatives will help transform Tashkent into one of the attractive tourism centers not only in the region but also internationally.
