Wrong House Renovated: $13K Lost Over Builder’s Mistake

In Khorezm region's Urgench district, a man renovated someone else's apartment due to a developer's mistake, reports Nova24.uz.

The man had signed a contract with SHOXJAHON DENTA to purchase a new apartment in the "Oq ariq" neighborhood. However, a company employee mistakenly showed him apartment No. 18 instead of No. 19 and handed over its key. Unaware of the error, he spent 150 million soums (approximately $13,000) on renovations and moved in.

Later, the rightful owner of apartment No. 18 demanded the property be vacated. The parties couldn't reach an agreement to swap units.

The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection deemed the developer's actions irresponsible and mandated a full renovation of apartment No. 19. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
