Uzbek man arrested for fake marriage in Russia
The Krasnoselsky District Court of Saint Petersburg has ordered the arrest of Uulu Mavlonkul, a citizen of Uzbekistan, suspected of organizing illegal migration, upl.uz reported.

According to case materials, Mavlonkul conspired with a woman identified as D. to arrange a fake marriage between her and another Uzbek citizen, O. The purpose was to legalize O.'s stay in Russia by obtaining a temporary residence permit.
The marriage was registered on March 29, 2023, and O. received a permit valid until September 7, 2026.

Mavlonkul was detained on June 11, 2025, and officially charged the next day. During interrogation, he refused to testify and requested house arrest, but the court ordered him to remain in custody until August 4.
