Electric car catches fire, one injured: Fire in Yangihayot stirs public outrage

On July 2, 2025, early in the morning at 04:07, an alarming fire incident occurred in Tashkent, in the Yangi‑Hayot district, Dostlik‑2 mahalla. According to official information, an electric car parked behind house number 13 caught fire for unknown reasons. This was immediately reported to the Tashkent City Emergency Situations Department (ESED).

Upon receiving the report, fire‑rescue equipment and qualified teams arrived at the specified location at 04:13. Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of firefighters, the fire was fully extinguished by 04:25.

Unfortunately, as a result of the incident, one person sustained burns of varying severity and was promptly transported to a medical facility and hospitalized. Doctors provided the necessary first aid, and his condition is currently under observation.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. In addition, a special commission is calculating the amount of material damage. As the electric car was completely destroyed by fire, restoration is not feasible. It is noted that this incident caused not only material but also psychological harm.

In its official statement, the Emergency Situations Department called on citizens not to be careless regarding potential fire hazards. In particular, it emphasized the importance of properly charging electric vehicles, storing them in safe locations, and conducting regular technical inspections.

With the growing number of electric vehicles, associated safety issues are becoming increasingly relevant. Officials emphasize that in order to prevent such incidents, regular public awareness and preventive measures are necessary.

Community activists and volunteers have also proposed organizing special meetings with experts on safety issues following this incident. At these gatherings, information is provided to residents about fire safety rules, precautions when using charging equipment, and quick response procedures.

Additionally, the Tashkent City Emergency Situations Department has distributed special reminders to the population, including simple illustrated instructions. These measures are aimed at increasing each citizen’s attention to personal safety.

The incident demonstrates that even modern technological devices can become sources of danger. Therefore, when operating electric cars and other electrical devices, responsibility, caution, and technical discipline must come first.

The Emergency Situations Service is examining the fire scene, analyzing the fire spread dynamics, technical causes, and human factors. It is not ruled out that legal or administrative measures may be taken against those responsible based on the investigation results.

Thus, the fire that occurred on July 2 in Tashkent alarmed the public and once again demonstrated the necessity of a more responsible approach to fire safety.
