Doctor in Bukhara stops man threatening him with knife
An incident that occurred in Bukhara attracted great public attention — a doctor in the narcology service managed to stop a citizen who was attempting to harm himself and prevented a tragedy in the medical center.

According to Kun.uz, the incident took place around 20:00 on July 2 at the Bukhara branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center for Mental Health, located in the city of Bukhara.

It became known that a 46-year-old man named Bobomurod Navruzov was brought to the center by a local prevention inspector due to being intoxicated. A medical examination was scheduled in the narcology department to determine the level of intoxication.

The routine examination was started by the on-duty narcologist, Elbek Dilov. However, what was expected to be a calm procedure suddenly escalated: the intoxicated man suddenly grabbed a knife from the table and attempted to injure himself.

At that moment, Dr. Elbek Dilov quickly and professionally reacted with cold blood. He forcefully pulled the knife from the man’s hand and neutralized the situation.

The entire event was recorded by the surveillance cameras installed in the room. All aspects of the incident were verified through documentation. Making a correct and timely decision in such extraordinary situations reflects the doctor’s high qualification.

According to specialists, any delay in such situations could have led to tragic consequences. However, thanks to the doctor's commitment to his profession and calmness, it was possible to save a human life.

At the same time, this incident once again demonstrated that medical workers in Uzbekistan play a crucial role not only in treatment, but also in actively protecting human life.

It should be noted that such cases require not only medical knowledge but also psychological readiness. This is especially important for professionals working in narcology and psychiatric centers, where they must be prepared for any situation.

Most importantly, during the incident, no one was injured, and the man was prevented from attempting suicide. He is currently under medical observation.

Experts emphasize that in such cases, attention should be paid not only to the person's physical but also mental state. The behavior of intoxicated individuals can be unpredictable, so medical personnel must work with constant attention and focus.

Another positive aspect of this case is the effective cooperation between police and medical institutions. Timely identification of the issue and immediate referral to the doctors reflect the responsibility within the system.

This case serves as a reminder to the public: in society, nothing is more valuable than human life. In such complex and unexpected moments, the real heroes are those committed to their professions — doctors, police officers — who achieve the greatest success: saving a life.
