A theft that shocked the public occurred in the Mirabad district, located in the center of Tashkent city. According to official data, the case is currently under investigation, and it has been determined that the crime was not committed alone but with the participation of several individuals.
According to the details of the incident, two individuals arrived at the crime scene in a Gentra brand car belonging to them. They entered the office of a local firm and removed the safe entirely, throwing it out through the window. Downstairs, a third person was waiting, who loaded the safe into the same car, and the two of them drove off in an unknown direction.
According to the firm’s director, the safe contained 560 thousand US dollars, two flash drives, and important documents. As a result of the operational measures carried out by law enforcement agencies, one of the suspects involved in the crime was detained.
Based on the suspect’s testimony, his residence was inspected. It was found that the safe had initially been taken to the basement of the house. He used an angle grinder to open the metal safe, appropriated the cash, and then threw the empty safe into the canal.
It was reported that part of the damage — 440 thousand US dollars and a Honda motorcycle — was recovered. Investigative procedures on the case are ongoing.
This case has been recorded not only as a large-scale financial theft but also raised serious concerns about security in the city center. It is expected that the relevant authorities will take additional control measures to prevent such crimes.
All eyes are now on the investigation and the fate of the remaining suspects.
