A man in Nukus, the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, has made headlines by paying an unprecedented amount of child support — approximately 2.27 billion Uzbek so‘ms (around $174,000 USD) — in full and upfront for his child until the age of 18. This was confirmed by the Nukus branch of the Bureau of Compulsory Execution.
According to officials, the man expressed his intention to fulfill his legal obligation early. Based on the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution No. 808, the total child support for the next 13 years was calculated. Afterward, the recipient mother confirmed she had received the full amount from her ex-husband.
Authorities stated that this is the largest known child support payment in the bureau’s history. Legal experts have praised the gesture as a rare example of responsible parenthood and financial foresight.
