In our country, the fight against economic crimes is intensifying. In the city of Samarkand, the head of a private company providing geological services managed to deceive a citizen in order to obtain illegal income by cunning means. He introduced himself as a specialist who previously held high positions in the Ministry of Mining and Geology and offered “secret” maps and photographs of gold deposits, allegedly available only to him, for 25 thousand dollars, based on geological exploration results in the Samarkand and Jizzakh regions.
Another case was recorded in the Kashkadarya region. An operator at the Shahrisabz gas distribution station of the “Muborak main gas pipelines” department of “Uztransgaz” JSC demanded 4,000 dollars to employ a citizen as a controller in one of the organizations of the “Uztransgaz” system through his acquaintances in high positions. During a joint operation by the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, this person was caught when he received the requested money.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals, and investigative actions are ongoing. State Security Service officials urge all citizens not to trust suspicious offers and to promptly report violations to the relevant authorities.
Openness and vigilance are becoming the most important tools for society in the fight against fraud and abuse of office. Events like these and the measures taken by government agencies remain in the spotlight of public discussion.
