Illegal tobacco trade worth 228 million soums stopped in Jizzakh

In Jizzakh region, tobacco products without excise stamps worth 228 million som were seized. During an operation carried out by the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office in Jizzakh region, D.T. (previously convicted) was caught with 6,000 cartons of "Esse Change" tobacco products, manufactured abroad and worth 228 million som, which he was attempting to sell in the city of Jizzakh, in his "Cobalt" vehicle.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 186-1 of the Criminal Code (illegal circulation or production of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic products, and tobacco products), and investigative actions are underway.
