Illegal tobacco trade uncovered in Tashkent

Individuals engaged in the sale of tobacco products without excise stamps were apprehended by law enforcement agencies in Tashkent.

During an operational event conducted by officers of the Mirzo Ulugbek District Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, citizen B.S. was caught selling foreign-manufactured tobacco products without excise stamps to citizen Z.X. It was determined that the transaction was carried out illegally.

During the inspection, 1,192 tobacco products of 52 types, with a total value of 53.7 million soums, were confiscated as material evidence.

In another incident, during an operational event conducted by the Mirobod District Department of the Department in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, citizen Sh.D. was apprehended while selling 601 tobacco products of 23 types without excise stamps to citizen S.D. for 42.3 million soums.

Criminal cases have been initiated regarding these incidents under Article 186-1 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are currently underway.
