In the city of Akhangaran, Tashkent region, individuals involved in the illegal sale of psychotropic drugs were detained. This was announced following an operational event conducted jointly by the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, the State Security Service, and Customs authorities.
According to the information, citizens D.M. and R.Kh. attempted to introduce into the illegal circulation of the psychotropic drug "Zardeks," produced abroad, which has a strong effect on the human psyche. They were detained while attempting to bring a total of 1,400 pills to Tashkent and sell them.
Law enforcement officers confiscated all the medicines from them as material evidence. During the investigation, it is noted that the distribution of these drugs may pose a serious threat to the health of the general public.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 251-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This article provides for strict liability for such cases as the production, distribution, or illegal circulation of potent substances.
An investigation is currently underway. Officials emphasized that this type of illegal trade is not only a violation of the law but also a serious threat to the health and spiritual environment of society.
