In the city of Margilan, a large batch of unguaranteed quality medical products was discovered, stored illegally for sale. During an operational event conducted jointly by the city department of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office and employees of the State Security Service, the violation was prevented.
According to the information, citizen S.A. and other persons illegally stored various medical devices in their apartments and shops. 46 types of medical products worth 963.5 million soums, which do not have a quality certificate, were seized as material evidence.
It was noted that the drugs and medical devices detected during the operation could pose a serious threat to public health. Because such products have not undergone clinical trials, have not been certified by official bodies, and their use increases the likelihood of posing a threat to human life.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This article provides for liability for the production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, or distribution of substandard or falsified medicines and medical devices. An investigation is currently underway.
