There is a risk of the spread of acute respiratory infections in Uzbekistan

According to the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the epidemiological situation regarding acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in the country remains stable and under control.

According to recent observations, although seasonal increases in the incidence of ARIs are observed in Russia and neighboring countries, the incidence of ARIs in Uzbekistan is 36.5% lower than the long-term average epidemic rate. Therefore, the risk of the disease entering and spreading in the country from abroad is constantly being analyzed and monitored. In this regard, air travel, labor migration, and business trips are closely monitored.

Regular analyses and laboratory tests are conducted in 15 virology laboratories of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee system to determine the spread and circulation of influenza and ARI viruses. Through these studies, it is determined in which regions and age groups the viruses are widespread.

Analysis by age groups shows that the highest incidence is observed among children aged 0-1 years. This requires special attention from parents and kindergarten specialists, as the children's immune system is not yet fully developed and their susceptibility to infection is high.

Experts emphasize: currently, the epidemiological situation regarding influenza and acute respiratory infections in the republic remains under full control, and the necessary measures have already been developed. This will allow the population to rest without worry and maintain a full life.

At the same time, specialists give the population a number of recommendations: the risk of infection can be significantly reduced by frequently washing hands, wearing masks in public places, and protecting children from mass gatherings.

Epidemiological monitoring and laboratory tests in the republic will continue on an ongoing basis in the coming weeks and months, while family doctors and kindergarten specialists should also actively participate in monitoring children's health.
