On September 17, a heartbreaking traffic accident occurred in the Yangiaryk district of the Khorezm region. As a result of this tragedy, a child under two years old died. According to information released by the regional Department of Internal Affairs Traffic Safety Department, the incident occurred in the Angarik neighborhood of the district.
According to official data, around 9:00 a.m., the Cobalt driver tried to overtake the Nexia, which was trying to turn left on the road. However, two vehicles collided due to non-compliance with traffic safety regulations.
After the collision, the Cobalt driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a small child standing on the sidewalk. Tragically, the child, born in 2023, died at the scene from his injuries.
Currently, the Investigative Group of the Yangiaryk District Department of Internal Affairs is conducting a preliminary inquiry and investigation. Measures will be taken in accordance with the law regarding the incident.
According to local residents and witnesses, the incident occurred in a very short time, and the driver's negligence led to the accident. It has not yet been disclosed under what criminal article the driver will be prosecuted.
