In the Surkhandarya region, illegal actions of the assistant judge of the Termez District Criminal Court were exposed. It turned out that he, using his official position, demanded a bribe in exchange for mitigating the administrative offense.
Initially, he took 500,000 soums from the offender. Later, he demanded an additional $800 to resolve the case favorably.
During a joint operation conducted by the Surkhandarya Regional Department of the State Security Service and the regional branch of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, a judge's assistant was apprehended with material evidence while accepting a bribe through a relative.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "v" (Fraud) and Article 28, Part 1 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code. According to the court's decision, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to him, and investigative actions are being carried out.
This situation once again demonstrates the importance of transparency and accountability in the judicial system. The public demands a decisive elimination of such cases and the application of just punishment.
