An assistant to the khokim, working in the mahalla of the Sariosiyo district of the Surkhandarya region, was exposed for abusing the trust of a citizen, using his official position. He demanded 29 million soums from a person born in 1996, promising to lease 2.5 hectares of irrigated land from the district administration's reserve for 30 years.
During an operational event conducted by the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and internal affairs officers, the assistant governor was detained while receiving the requested money.
During the investigation, it became known that he was supposed to transfer the received funds to the engineer of the "Survilerloyiha" department of the "Uzdaverloyiha" institute and the head of the district department of agriculture.
As a result of prompt actions, these individuals were also detained while receiving the money. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against them under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
