A woman who tried to escape by burning a narcotic plant in a tandoor was detained using a drone.

A woman living in the village of Arabkhona, Shafirkan district, Bukhara region, was found using a drone to be cultivating cannabis, a narcotic plant, in her garden. This situation was revealed during large-scale operational and preventive measures carried out by the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs, tax and prevention agencies.

The head of the information service of the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs, Ulugbek Shukurlayev, informed "Khabar.uz" that in recent months, the internal affairs bodies have been taking strict measures against cases of illegal cultivation of narcotic drugs in the yards and household plots of mahallas.

During one such event, a drone surveillance was conducted in a household in the Kayrag'och neighborhood of Shofirkon district, where it was discovered that cannabis was being cultivated illegally.

According to the report, while the drone was circling around the house, the woman began to suspect him and, realizing the situation, rushed to pick the plants and try to set them on fire. For this purpose, he quickly lit the tandoor and tried to destroy the evidence by throwing away the plants.

In the initial survey, he said: "I noticed beforehand that a drone flying over our house would cause problems. Therefore, I immediately picked the plants in my garden and lit a fire to burn them in the tandoor. But I didn't manage... I admit my guilt."

However, prevention inspectors promptly arrived at the scene based on the received information. Although the woman initially refused to open the gate, after a few minutes she was forced to comply with legal requirements. After that, the courtyard was inspected and a large number of plants were identified.

According to the results of a chemical examination conducted by the expert-criminalistics center of the Department of Internal Affairs of Bukhara region, it was officially confirmed that the plants grown in the garden and attempted to be destroyed were "cannabis." The case has been documented in the prescribed manner.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated on this fact under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and preliminary investigative actions have begun. Currently, the issue of bringing the woman to legal responsibility is being considered.
