A high-profile case of crime was recorded in the Navoi region - in the Kyzyltepa district, a husband hit his wife in a Damas car. This was reported by the Nemolchi.uz project, citing the decision of the regional civil court.
According to reports, the victim Zamira has been constantly subjected to violence by her husband, Shahriyor, for several years. Unable to withstand the violence and threats, the woman finally filed for divorce.
On August 12, the Navoi Regional Court, having considered the divorce case, gave the parties a three-month period and forced Shahriyor to pay alimony for his four minor children.
However, a day later, Shahriyor called Zamira and threatened her, saying, "Stop paying alimony, otherwise it will be bad."
On August 14, he drove a Damas out of his house and deliberately hit Zamira, who was driving on the side of the road. As a result, the woman was seriously injured: her spine was broken, her lower back was paralyzed, and her nerves were damaged. He is still in serious condition in the hospital.
According to Zamira's relatives, the perpetrator did not provide any assistance for her treatment. Investigative bodies have initiated proceedings against him under Article 266 of the Criminal Code (Violation of vehicle operation safety). However, the case was not assessed as "intentional homicide" - investigators assessed it as an "accident."
The saddest thing is that Shahriyar hasn't been arrested; he's still writing to Zamira and continuing to threaten her.
According to Nemolchi.uz, this situation once again showed how ineffective the system of protecting women in Uzbekistan is.

While the public is waiting for answers to these questions, Zamira is fighting for her life. His relatives are trying to raise funds for surgery in Tashkent.
