The alarming incident that occurred in Tashkent drew public attention. A criminal case has been initiated against the driver who dragged the traffic officer over the hood of the car, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

It is reported that at the time of the incident, the traffic police inspector tried to stop the driver, but he refused the legal requirement and continued to move, as a result of which he dragged the officer on the hood for several meters. This situation was widely discussed on social networks after being filmed by witnesses.

After the incident, the driver was detained and charged under Article 219 of the Criminal Code - "Resistance to a representative of the authorities or a person performing a civic duty." According to official information, the suspect was born in 2001 and has been detained in accordance with procedural order. The investigation has begun.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the driver had committed violations many times before. 144 traffic violations were detected in his car. It was also reported that in 38 cases the deadline for fines had expired, and 30 cases were sent to the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement.

The total debt of the offending driver amounted to 18 million 90 thousand soums.

Currently, investigative bodies are working on establishing all the circumstances of the incident. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor's Office have announced that strict measures will be taken against such cases.

A situation that forces us to think again about the culture of indiscipline and obedience to the law on the road - posing a physical threat to a state inspector can entail not only administrative, but also criminal liability.
