A driver responsible for the death of four members of one family in Fergana Region has been sentenced, reported Sud.uz.
According to the information, the tragedy occurred in the “Shohimardonobod” neighborhood of Fergana District. The 25-year-old Nexia driver, having grossly violated speed regulations, moved into the opposite lane while attempting a dangerous overtaking maneuver, resulting in a head-on collision with a Tico vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the Tico driver died at the scene, while a woman and two children accompanying him passed away in the hospital.
The court found the driver guilty and sentenced him to 8 years of imprisonment, as well as revoked his driving license for 3 years. In addition, he was ordered to pay 100 million soums in compensation to the victims’ family.
Experts emphasize that failing to obey speed limits is not just a traffic violation — it is a cause of tragedies that claim human lives.
